This is quite an interesting piece, coming directly from a South American family via Mexico. Stands approximately 5 feet tall and framed in a massive eagle, headed frame. Definitely painted by a more amateurish artist, judging by the hands (which are slightly off proportion). Given the lack of accurate detail with respect to the buckle and cross, combined with the obvious age of the materials, it appears to me that this piece was probably painted during the period or possibly slightly after, but probably IN South America, and used by some group of party supporters. The piece shows signs of having been disassembled (the metal struts on the reverse that hold the frame together are definitely more modern). The piece is signed per the photos, but absolutely no additional information is available on this piece. While I believe it to be painted for supporters of Hitler, it could have been a post-war Nazi support group or something like that (such things did exist in South America as we all know). Inquiries welcome, and price negotiable.
