An impressive example of Police headgear.  The Rural police equipment was denoted by brown leather, which is evident on this piece.  Worn by NCOs in a parade type uniform, and often worn during traffic directing duties as well.  Exterior patent leather brown elements show minor age and wear per the photos.  Police blue felt covered body shows a couple of moth nips on one side, barely visible.  Brown leather chin strap is intact, as is the metal cockade.  Interior is in phenomenal condition, with a supple leather liner.  Marked on the interior by the production firm of Hans Romer, and marked size 57.  Overall, an outstanding example.
