Description

This is one of the earliest SS Officer swords, noted by the thin, silver grip rune.  Otherwise, it's identical to the normal "first run" swords, being constructed with nickel fittings throughout.  Grip which is ebony, is perfect.  Pommel nut is the "step down" variety (as opposed to the one-piece type) and features the deep silver plating found on early pommel nuts (I think it's because many were destined to be engraved, and were therefore prepared for that).  Blade is MINT (I took one representative picture to show the condition of the blade) - no sharpening, bending, rust, or runner marks).  Same with the paint ... I took a single picture of the worst part, showing wear from actual "in period" use.  Otherwise, near flawless and rating at least 95%.  Lower scabbard is the correct "pressed in" variety as opposed to the screw-in, found only on police swords.  Scabbard throat and D-ring are correctly marked.  Overall length is 40 inches.  Comes with an early (thin rune) knot (not tagged).  I cannot disassemble this piece without marring the pommel nut, but I guarantee that the screw cover is in place underneath the pommel.
