German Waffen-SS M40 Stahlhelm featuring a single SS Siegrune decal on the left side. The helmet retains the majority of its original field-gray finish and includes the original leather liner and chinstrap. Ventilation holes and stamped ventilation plugs are present in typical M40 construction. The steel shell displays the original owner's name painted along the skirt, a common personalization during the period. The M40 model is distinguished by rolled edges and stamped vent holes without separate grommets, reflecting wartime production. This helmet represents standard issue combat gear used by SS troops during World War II. Purchased from an old collection, this helmet would pass scrutiny with the most refined and advanced helmet experts.
