This is a National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP) small gold party badge. It features a central swastika surrounded by a red enamel band inscribed with "Nationalsozialistische D.A.P." and is encircled by a gold oak leaf wreath. The reverse side includes a pin attachment and a stamped number of the original recipient's NSDAP membership number.  This number is researched to Otto Schulte from Gas Westfalen Sud, who joined the party in 1928.  I have no other information on this person, but I only did a very cursory search, so more research is needed!  Pin has been jeweler replaced (period) with an elegant pin and catch system.  This piece shows wear to the reverse gold finish, most of the bright gold finish present on the obverse, with some cracking to the enamel.   Overall, a great piece with excellent character and further research opportunities.  Awarded to the first 100,000 party members with unbroken membership in 1934.
