This artifact is a National Socialist Flyers Corps (NSFK) Glider Pilot Badge. It features three stylized gliders in flight above a swastika, enclosed within a wreath of oak leaves. The reverse side is stamped "HERBERT HOFFMANN BERLIN SW 68," identifying the maker. Issue number 325. The NSFK Glider Pilot Badge was awarded to members of the NSFK, a paramilitary organization affiliated with the Nazi Party, tasked with promoting aviation skills among youth and civilian pilots. Introduced in the mid-1930s, the badge signified successful completion of glider pilot training and was a mark of aviation competence within the NSFK. It played a role in the broader Nazi effort to prepare future military aviators through civilian pilot programs prior to and during World War II. Rare to find an example with undamaged white enamel - this one is perfect.
