Description

800 silver cased high quality pocket watch by the well known company "Junghans" with ornate design of the Borsig Company on the outer cover of the case. A. Borsig was one of the largest locomotive companies in Germany, which later merged with Rheinmetall and in 1941 was absorbed by the Reichswerk AG Hermann Göring. They developed and produced all manner of weapons and ammunition, from machine guns and automatic cannons to railway cannons.  Under the outer cover is an engraved inner cover indicating the watch was presented to Johann Klose for his 25th anniversary with the company on 1. October 1925.  Case is marked with Moon, Crown, and .800 for silver content. Enameled face is excellent with black numbers and ornate golden hands. The watch movement and winding stem are marked "Junghans" with an extra "J" on the top of the stem. The watch runs and is very accurate. The 'eggshell' crystal has a hairline crack that can be seen in the images. It does not affect the watch, however it's an quick and easy repair for a jeweler to replace the crystal if desired.
