Description
The Deutsches-Feld-Ehrenzeichen was a commercially available award (not government issue) and very popular with WWI veterans. This example retains its original titled pasteboard box, which shows age and handling. Pin, hinge, and catch are undamaged. This model has "Ges. Gesch" in an oval with the name of the decoration and "Hamburg 11" on the reverse side. Most of the silvered finish has faded, as is usual with these awards; the gilt finish to the swords and trim is mostly intact. Nice example showing age and wear and harder to find with the box.
