Description
Luftwaffe visor with removable waffle pattern white top for warm weather use. There is some soiling to the white fabric. The metal winged wreath and Luftwaffe eagle show darkening and verdigris. Patent leather chinstrap is the correct type. The interior retains its cream colored artificial silk lining with celluloid sweat shield with "Stirndruckfrei/Deutsches Reichspatent", indicating that the cap was either made by or the feature was licensed from Peküro. Leather sweatband with velvet 'hinge' is typical of Peküro visor caps. Original wearer's initials are attached to the sweatband: "H. Sch.". Very fine example showing light use and age.
