Description
Not necessarily a reproduction, the stein is possibly a commemorative beer stein for the Sonderverband 288, made for a 40--or 50th anniversary celebration (since the stein has the date 31. October 1942). There is a misspelling--"Pz. Gran. Rgt. Afrika" instead of "Gren.". Sites of battles in North Africa are also printed on the front of the stein along with a Palm Tree and rising Sun logo, with a swastika at the bottom of the surrounding wreath.. The stein is a grey/ivory color and is marked ".5l" and, below that, by the maker, "sahm". On the bottom of the stein is an added fake "Schönheit der Arbeit" with swastika marking. Excellent, undamaged condition.
