Saxon Infantry Reserve Officer Model 1897. Black fiber helmet body with fine fire gilded trim. Body has excellent form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer in excellent condition with fine polished finish. No extra holes in helmet body. Wartime replacement material sweat leather helmet lining with green silk headliner. Front visor is the fine Saxon style half squared but round type. Inside visors are colored red and green. Front plate is a fine high vaulted Fire Gilt Saxon Star with Silver Saxon Crest over a silver Saxon style reserve cross. Elegant elongated spike with gold stars at base. Flat gold chinscales with gold rosettes. Saxon style non-serrated Reichs and Saxon officer style cockades. Beautiful and outstanding early wartime helmet in near excellent condition. Helmet is untouched and has never been cleaned.
