The Luftwaffe Flugführer Corps (of Flugzeugführerkorps)was established in 1940. Members were in the elevated service career group and served as flight instructors, weather service pilots, test pilots, testing and checking out of newly delivered aircraft. The insignia is rare and to find a tunic belonging to a Korps member is nearly impossible. The tailored Luftwaffe Officer tunic is made of tricot blue/grey wool. The collar tabs with pink Waffenfarbe feature a full wreath and single bladed propeller in hand embroidered bullion. The shoulder boards are like those o fa Major but with Flight golden yellow underlay and a pink wool base below the yellow. Hand embroidered bullion Luftwaffe breast eagle. Both cuffs are piped. The lining is artificial silk and shows wear and use with a hand darned spot as shown in the images. Overall the tunic shows normal age and a good amount of use, with wear showing mainly on the reverse.
