Description
The well known saber was designed by George S. Patton. This saber was produced by 'LF & C' (Landers, Frary, & Clark) and is dated 1918. The bright blade is maker marked and dated while on the reverse ricasso is marked "U.S.", an eagle's head, and 'NO12' Inspector's mark. The undamaged hilt and hand guard retain their original dark finish. The scabbard is canvas covered wood with metal throat fitting and chape retaining most of their original finish as well. Fairly scarce to find in this condition.
