Description

Mexican Infantry Officers “Pickelhaube” circa 1910.  The Mexican government was supplied with military hardware, uniforms and were advised by the Imperial German government.  The Mexican “Pickelhaube” was German made and worn by elite members of the Mexican Army beginning in 1910.  This helmet is the standard “German” style officer leather helmet with the fittings being gild brass.  Front plate is the Mexican Eagle holding a snake in is beak.  Round spike base with tall spike.  Stars are at the base of the spike holding it to the helmet body.  Interior has officer style leather sweat and silk headliner.  Rounded chinscales on rosettes.  Mexican colored officer 2 piece  cockades on both sides.  Rare and beautiful helmet showing the influence of Imperial German on the Mexican Army.
