Description

Deutsche Akademie der Luftfahrtforschung in Gold set. One of the most elusive to find awards bestowed during the III. Reich, it is also one of the highest quality awards created during the period; it is fashioned like fine jewelry and the eagle design is certainly among the most detailed and best executed. This is the 2nd model award and both are textbook. These awards were produced by only 1 maker, L. Christian Lauer of Nürnberg, and this set is correctly maker marked. Both the award and the smaller lapel/tie pin are numbered 142 and the pieces are also marked '800' for the silver content. Superb set!
