Prussian Green Felt Infantry Enlisted Man Ersatz Helmet Model 1915. Pressed felt helmet body with Field Gray trim. Green colored
felt helmet body that has fine form. Field Gray trim is field gray with an even finish. Infantry style spike top is removable at base. Inside has full leather EM style black dyed leather, Liner is still soft and supple. Complete with back spine or front visor trim. Numerous markings inside helmet body and on back visor (see photos). Probably a U.S. Doughboy souvenir from the Battle of Angers. Frontplate held in by original leather wedges and is original to helmet. Brownish leather chinstrap with field gray trim mounted on M1891 side lugs. Brown leather strap is proper for ersatz helmets. Original Reich and Prussian EM style cockades. Outstanding representative of a wartime Doughboy Souvenir spiked helmet.
