Description
Imperial (KuK- Kaiser and Koenig) Austro-Hungarian Hussar Shako for the 12th Hussar for subaltern officers (lieutenant, first lieutenant) circa 1900. Helmet body covered with white felt, all-round sewn-on golden border for subaltern officers. Frontplate is the double-headed Imperial Austrian Eagle with regimental number "12" in the center. No field badge or horsehair plume. Lacing around base of helmet attached "Vitèz-Kötèz" for officer. Inside liner is partially missing. On it a gold-stamped manufacturer is faintly visible. Very rare Imperial Austrian Hussar shako. Very good condition in only lightly worn.
