A nearly identical buckle, captioned "Fabrication of the Forestry Leader's buckle", is pictured in "Belt Buckles and Brocades of the Third Reich" by John R, Angolia on page 619. The buckle catch is stamped with spurious markings. The belt is potentially original with the buckle rather poorly sewn to it. The gilt eagle is screwed onto the buckle with a screw and nut. Brown leather belt shows age, staining and use.
