Well preserved specimen.  Decals are 95% or better (they are all present, but have a couple of deep scratches, which extend to the helmet).  Size is approximately 62, but the size marking is obscured by the interior paint and hardly visible.  Liner is original to the helmet, as is the chin strap, based upon the "grown there" look to each piece, and the shape of the liner band (not bent and marred as most are, when removed).  Police troops served in North Afrika as early as 1942, but in Italy as early as 1940.  This leads me to believe this helmet was from the Italian campaign, when Italy was still an Axis power.
