Incredible grouping from the family of an Iwo Jima veteran, Theodore White of Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines. Included are two Japanese flags captured on the Island during combat, many photos of training AND combat, plus some of his medals, his dog tag, and a tin of Iwo Jima sand.  Now, Iwo Jima sand is not very rare, but finding a box that a combat veteran literally took from the beach, is quite special.  Included are some V-Mails with combat reports sent home to his family.  This is not a "rear with the gear" Marine ... this guy was clearing fox-holes.
