This grouping includes an unmarked Spanish Cross in Bronze awarded by Nazi Germany. The Spanish Cross was a military decoration granted by the Third Reich for service in the Spanish Civil War. The set contains the recipient's Soldbuch, a military service book with his photograph and extensive entries. Also included is the award document for the Spanish Cross, dated 6 June 1939, bearing an auto-pen signature of Adolf Hitler. The Spanish Cross is the standard bronze variant with swords, awarded for combatants. The documents also include a War Merit Cross award document. Also of interest is a 1940 document presented to Fischer for a contribution of metal for wartime production needs - part of organized drives where citizens donated metal (often household items) to support the war effort.
