Description
Rare plate affixed to the front of a WWI combat helmet. It hangs on the lugs of the helmet, and was designed to protect a soldier from a direct hit to the front of the head. So much for retreating! Piece shows minor age and worn paint. VERY heavy piece, seldom encountered. They usually retail for about $2000 to $2500.
