This is a German Army officer's dagger used by officers in the German Army during WW2. It is a standard pattern officer’s dress dagger featuring an orange grip and a silver-toned metal scabbard. The dagger includes a portepee knot and hanger straps typical of officer dress accessories. The crossguard bears the Wehrmacht eagle clutching a swastika. Blade is stone mint with a very crisp trademark for the Carl Eickhorn firm.  Exterior is perfectly silver plated brass.  Grip has no damage.  Accoutrements show only light age.  This is a "gem quality" dagger.
