This is a German Heer Army officer's saber produced by Robert Klaas. The saber features a distinctive lion's head pommel and a black grip bound with twisted wire, along with a brass guard embellished with ornate floral and scroll motifs. The scabbard is painted black with 98% of paint remaining, with only light scratches.  Saber includes a portepee and a leather frog hanger with a green felt backing. Includes the tan-felt storage bag, showing minor rust.  Blade length is quite long ... 34 inches.  Overall length is 39 inches.  Heavy brass hilt retains 95% of original factory fire-gold finish.
