Three full-size bowls (one with a small chip on the rim) produced by the Rosenthal Porcelain company. The circular logo is for the Deutsche Arbeitsfrong (DAF), or German Labor Front. Below the label is the text around the cogwheel logo reads "MODELL DES AMTES SCHÖNHEIT DER ARBEIT" which translates to "Approved Model of the Office of Beauty of Labor". The "Office of Beauty of Labor" was a DAF department that set standards for industrial design, and its mark served as a seal of approval. Of interest, Philipp Rosenthal, the Jewish founder of the company that made these bowls, had the firm taken from him in 1934 by the Nazi regime.
