Except for two small tears in the sweatband, this specimen is nearly flawless.  Exterior is very tight, with perfect structure.  Insignia has never been removed.  Hat band is the woven-fabric type (the other being felt).  Chin strap is tight and in like-new condition (it's probably marked but I have not removed it (nor should it be removed).  Interior is correct textbook structure and materials.  Sweat shield is intact, full gold foil embossing, complete with unused name tag.  Sweat band is marked 1940 by the sweat band manufacturer.  This was probably never issued, given that date, since most SS personnel were no longer wearing the black uniform by that time.  Tagged with the correct black RZM tag.
