Worn but 100% original government contract SS Officer visor (with no manufacturer markings on the inside).  Constructed of fine ribbed wool, this visor features matching insignia with no extra holes behind them.  Eagle is probably a kupal unmarked 2 prong M24 eagle, and skull appears to be a marked M 1/52 skull, with matching finish.  Beneath the insignia the material surrounding indicates the insignia have been present for decades and are original to the hat.  White piping has soiling, and one break on the upper crown piping where the wicker piping core is visible (damage is on the back so it does not show when displayed).  There is also one small abrasion on the left side of the hat just above the crown piping, also not visible when displayed.  Interior is lined in gold silk, and sweat band, although very fragile and thin, has no signs of damage, and obvious sweat-staining along the edge from wear.  Bill has "waffle pattern" impressions underneath it from the die form used to make it.  This is absent from the early reproductions - another sign of originality.  Got a "salty" combat tunic?  This visor is perfect!
