Cotton twill 1937 pattern kepi was intended to be worn with the brownshirt. Black group color band with ventilation grommets. The top fabric shows water staining. Eagle is the early style that would have been replaced with the later larger eagle. The lining shows considerable wear to the fabric and features a sweatshield with maker's name, which is unusual for a 1937 kepi (regulations ordered no makers' names but only the makers' coding on the RZM label). Lining is stamped "DS" which may be a costume company or theater stock marking. Sweatband shows use and white residue which might be mildew. RZM label is still present and shows no staining from the leather band. The kepi shows wear and some catches to the twill.
