Dagger in average condition, but with no damage ... only uniform wear throughout.  Light rust and disruptions to the paint finish, but no dents, damage or cracks.  Blade is in better condition, with no rust, and only light surface age.  Dagger was produced by Hartkopf & Co., which carried the designation RZM M7/440.  This 1936 Service Dagger is an example of an RZM vintage standard service dagger that was upgraded by the addition of a factory scabbard and chain, which was added to the NSKK service member's original dagger when his rank status authorized him to wear the chain.  This was a common occurrence for many NSKK men, who did not opt to purchase a brand new dagger via supply channels, in which case they would have received a dagger produced by the Carl Eickhorn firm, which was almost exclusively the production concern who made such complete daggers from the factory.  Dagger fits together perfectly, and may be a candidate for restoration.
