Near flawless later war Naval Officer's dagger.  Exterior features nearly 100% of the original fire-gold finish, with no dents to the scabbard, and almost no wear.  Plastic grip shows some very tiny hairline crazing (but no loose pieces of plastic).  These flaws are hardly visible.  Scabbard has one small spot of corrosion on the edge - very hard to notice, even in the photos.  Blade is pristine, with a "like new" factory fouled-anchor etch.  Blade grades 98% - it's that nice.
