Description
Bavarian enlisted ranks "Raupenhelm" (Caterpillar Helmet) model 1868. Crown and "L" for Ludwig on the front, lion's head mounts for leather chinstrap with "L" cockade above the left mount, and characteristic hair "Raupen" on top. This model has a ventilator on each side of the Raupen. The metal visor edge is missing and the liner, which shows use and damage, is also present. Chinstrap appears damaged but likely complete.
