Combat rolled rim M35 helmet shell has numerous coats of thick paint which appear to be period applied. In addition there is a very large green swastika painted on each side--purpose unknown. The paint shows age and handling. Whether the swastikas were painted by a GI or ? is unknown. While the liner is gone, the rivets are still in place.
